Mentor’s Name: Mrs. Browning
Brief Description: learning
Swahilian
Overview of Project Proposal
- Project Objective:
The
objective of my project is to be able to recognize words in swahillian if I
ever went to one of the countries that still use it as their first language. Kenya,
Tanzania, Zanzibar, Uganda, Democratic
Republic of Congo, Zambia,
Mozambique, Malawi, Rwanda and Burundi,
Somalia, and the Comoro Islands are the only places that still speak this
language. Mission teams from all different churches and all different states go
to some of these countries every year to help out some struggling communities.
I would like to be able to communicate with them some and I definitely think it
would help us share the word of god and teach them more.
- Project Rationale:
I
want to learn how to be able to speak another language so that ill be able to
feel more in tuned with the world.
- Project Steps:
First
I want to be able to speak the small words and just start learning the basic
parts of the language. I am using an online quizlet to learn the different
parts of the language using the step by step slides.
4) Timeline of Activities:
5) Available Human and Material
Resources:
- The online quizlet teacher
- Mrs. Browning
- The foreign language teacher at the junior high
6) Possible Road Blocks:
- losing the motivation to keep going
- not be able to find more links to learning the language
- go through a traumatic experience and forget everything that I have taught myself
7) Research Questions:
How long has this language been around? How is it different than all
the other languages and how is it created?
